Because our fees are already very affordable you will be less out of pocket for our services.
PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE
If you have extras or ancillary health insurance cover for psychological services, you may get a rebate from your health insurance. As our fees are lower than the recommended fee, you will benefit more from the amount claimable.
MEDICARE
MEDICARE REBATES AVAILABLE UNDER THE MEDICARE MENTAL HEALTH CARE PLAN UPON REFERRAL FROM A GP, PSYCHIATRIST OR A PAEDIATRICIAN.
Under this scheme, you will need to obtain a referral from a GP who will assess you and write a Mental Health Care Plan.
All our psychologists are registered with Medicare Australia. Because we keep our fees as low as possible for a private practice (no government funding) your out of pocket expense will be less.
Psychology Medicare services are limited to 12 sessions per calendar year, with a review by the referring doctor after the first 6 sessions. Clients could also be elegible for 12 group sessions in a calendar year.
Psychology Medicare services "can only be provided to people with an assessed mental disorder that is being managed by a GP under the Mental Health Care Plan or a psychiatrist assessment and managed plan, or a direct referral from a psychiatrist or a paediatrician" (Australian Psychological Society, Medicare, 2006).
CONCESSION FEES
We can negotiate a lower fee for those people who hold a current Health Care Card, Pensioner Card or Full-time Student Card.
